Maintaining adequate nitric oxide levels is best recognized for the incremental advantages it offers if increasing blood flow and muscle oxygenation to the heart. Recent research has also linked importance of optimizing nitric oxide levels in ensuring an effective immune response to viral infection. Cardiovascular disease is being reported as one of the primary co-morbidities in the Covid-19 crisis. Nitric oxide is a vital signaling molecule in the health of the cardiovascular system and it is never too late for patients to start making improvements.

This week, Michal chats again with Beth Shirley (who you may have heard in Episode 25 – All About Nitric Oxide) who has developed expertise as a pharmacist and certified clinical nutritionist during a 40+ year career. Beth became the pharmacist to go to in order to support people in getting off prescription medications or prevent them from going down that road to begin with. Beth provides clinical nutrition service for wellness-focused individuals across the entire age spectrum. Her specialties include stress-induced hormonal imbalance, intestinal dysfunction, autoimmune and chronic inflammatory issues, detoxification and super-normal oxidative stress. Over the last 9 years, Beth has spent time working with some of the leading thought leaders in the world of nitric oxide research and through this has developed an in-depth knowledge on the topic and its potential applications in patient care.
